Chippewa Valley Regional Airport (KEAU) officials begin negotiations for restaurant

Chippewa Valley Regional Airport officials will begin negotiations with the operators of an unnamed restaurant that could be housed at the airport.

Today the airport commission authorized airport Director Charity Zich and commission Chairman Rick Bowe to begin negotiating terms of a lease to bring a restaurant to the airport.

Zich declined to identify the restaurant. The commission was considering proposals from two restaurants and has decided to to try to negotiate an agreement with one, she said.

“We're very excited about the prospect (of bringing a restaurant to the airport),” Zich said. “As soon as we can complete negotiations and make the information available to the public, we will do that.”

The airport has not had a restaurant since Farm on Starr closed on Oct. 31, 2014. That restaurant opened in April, 2013.

Prior to that the Connell's II restaurant was at the airport for many years.
