Cheers: To organizers who brought back the Penn Valley Airport’s Air Show.
The event sat grounded for three years, but this year the airport put on a jaw-dropping show that drew thousands of flight enthusiasts, young and old.
In addition to watching a lot of really cool airplanes, young people were given an opportunity to learn more about the career possibilities in aviation.
The day had its somber moments when a “missing-man flyover” was conducted by pilots from the Williamsport area in honor of local pilot and attorney Michael Apfelbaum, who, with his wife, Christy, died in a plane crash over the Labor Day weekend.
