Emergency landing on school grounds in Briarcliff Manor, Westchester County, New York (with video)

BRIARCLIFF MANOR - A helicopter made an emergency landing on the grounds of an elementary school in Briarcliff Manor.

Todd Elementary School officials say it was a little before 9 a.m. when they noticed the helicopter approaching the school located at 45 Ingham Road.

The pilot, who appears to be from Pennsylvania, apparently saw some indicator lights on in the chopper that concerned him. He tried to land at a nearby park but noticed there were people there.

Both police and fire officials responded to the scene. After testing the helicopter, the pilot took off.

No students were on the field at the time of the landing. The school was on lockdown as a precaution.
