Rush City Regional Airport (KROS), Chisago County, Minnesota

Restored Aircraft Crashes at Chisago County Airport

A two-seat aircraft crashed while landing at a Chisago County airport Monday morning, according to authorities.

A recently restored 1936 Taylor J2 had just touched down at Rush City Regional Airport around 8:30 a.m. when it veered off the runway and into a deep drainage ditch, Sgt. Jason Foster of the Chisago County Sheriff's Office said.

The plane's front end was damaged and the propeller and landing gear were broken, Foster said.

The pilot, who is from Amery, Wisconsin, wasn't injured, Foster said.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.
