Plane makes emergency landing in Cullman County
 
Several people escaped injury in Cullman County this morning after their plane had to make an emergency landing.

The Federal Aviation Administration confirms the small plane made the emergency landing about 10 a.m. The plane was a Mooney M20P aircraft, and landed near the intersection of County Road 728 and Highway 278.

The plane had three people on board, and had departed the Venice Municipal Airport in Venice, Fla. It was en route to the Cullman Regional Airport, when the pilot reported engine problems.

Local authorities told the FAA there were no injuries from the emergency landing.

According to the FAA website, the plane was registered to Florida Flight Training Center, Inc., in Venice, Fla.

The FAA is investigating, and more details may be released at a later time.
