Navy fighter pilot won't be prosecuted in Bedford County, Virginia

Bedford, VA – A U.S. Navy fighter pilot arrested for online sex crimes involving a Bedford County girl, will not be prosecuted locally. 

Daniel Harris now faces federal charges as part of a larger investigation, and is being investigated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Through its investigation, the Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force found other potential victims in Roanoke County, across the United States, and on a military base in Japan.

He was arrested last November and was being held in Bedford County. Harris is being moved to a jail in the Tidewater area.
