Local kids have the opportunity to see Scottsbluff from a birds-eye-view this weekend, at Airport Appreciation Day.

This Saturday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Scottsbluff airport will be hosting the fun-filled family day.

Fire trucks, aviation equipment, airplanes and WWI and WWII replica planes will be on display for kids and adults to check out and play with.

Airport Director, Darwin Skelton, says youngsters can even get a free ride on an airplane if they'd like.

"You just can't beat an airplane ride. So the kids really enjoy the airplane rides, and can you blame them? How often do you get to go in an airplane? And so they really, really enjoy that."

Skelton says the event is free of cost, and breakfast and lunch will be provided.
