Cargo van crashed into a Pakistan International Airlines aircraft

Karachi - An Airbus aircraft of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) crashed into a cargo van at Jinnah Terminal in Karachi after landing today.

The crash occurred after the PIA Airbus shortly when a flight from Saudi Arabia was landing.

According to media reports, the van crashed into the aircraft due to over-speeding.

Doors and other parts of the plane were damaged in the collision.

The aircraft was grounded for maintenance work.

On the other hand, a spokesman of PIA denied the grounding of the aircraft and the flight schedules being affected by the incident. He said that the flight was sent to Mumbai (flight no. PK-274) after maintenance.  Such incidents have already taken place at Benazir Bhutto International Airport in Islamabad, twice before.
