The Ville Platte chapter of the VVA (Vietnam Veterans of America) requested the City of Ville Platte help them re-tether the rotors on the Vietnam-era helicopter at the Evangeline Parish Courthouse.
The old cables had rotted away and they prevent the rotors from excess movement during strong winds.
The city will also contact Camp Beauregard to look into refurbishing the tank (located at the Veteran’s Home), carriage guns and helicopter.
They were last refurbished approximately 10 years ago.
