Low flying planes cause panic in Mershing

An activist from Mershing IDP camp in South Darfur revealed that two Sudanese Air Forces (SAF) planes flew over the camp several times on Saturday August 25.

The planes were flying low and made a lot of noise, as if they were preparing to drop bombs. Several IDPs fled to neighboring valleys and forests. Three women in Mershing IDP camp suffered from miscarriages caused by fear and panic.

The low-flying planes caused widespread panic among IDPs, women and children in particular and uprooted several homes in the camp. The activist said two MiG planes were spotted diving low over the camp several times.
