An Assonet man injured in a small plane crash over the weekend was recovering Monday at a New York hospital.
Steven Bochter was in good condition Monday afternoon at Stony Brook University Hospital, according to spokesman Clinton Weaver.
Weaver also said Kimberly Brillo, who was
identified by several media outlets as the passenger in the plane, had
been discharged.
Weaver cited federal privacy
laws in declining to say where Brillo is from. Bochter declined through
Weaver to be interviewed by a reporter.
The
Associated Press reported that a single-engine Mooney plane crashed on
eastern Long Island shortly before 5:30 p.m. Sunday, leaving two people
with unspecified injuries. East Hampton police said the crash victims
had flown there earlier that day and were returning to the Taunton
airport when they went down, according to The Associated Press, which
said the couple had taken off, experienced a problem and tried to land
at the Long Island airport.
A man who answered
the phone at Suzuki Triumph of Swansea auto dealership Monday said
Bochter owns that business. The man, who declined to give his full name,
identified himself as a friend and confirmed that Bochter and a
companion had been involved in the plane crash. The Massachusetts
Secretary of State lists Bochter, of Assonet, as president, secretary
and director of Suzuki of Swansea Inc.
