India: Daughter of chief flight instructor hangs self from fan

JAMSHEDPUR: A 17-year-old school girl ended her life abruptly by hanging herself from the ceiling fan of her room at her Vijaya Heritage residential building in Uliyan in Kadma early on Thursday.

Sneha Mohan, the daughter of chief flight instructor (CFI) Amrendra Kumar Mohan, employed with Sonari aerodrome-based Alchemist Aviation Academy, committed suicide when her parents were taking morning stroll.

Police are inquiring into the reasons behind the suicide of the Class XII student. "She was fairly good in the studies," said one of her classmate.

"We deeply mourn the death of the daughter of our CFI. All senior officials have rushed to Mohanji's residence in Vijaya Heritage on receiving the information," said the receptionist at Alchemist Aviation office.

Sneha is a student of Kadma DBMS English School. "So far, we haven't got any clue about the possible reasons behind the suicide. However, inquiry into the matter is on," said Kadma OC R Prasad. Police recovered the body and sent it to the government-run MGM Hospital for postmortem.
