FAYETTEVILLE, AL (WBRC) - Two people were hurt Friday afternoon when the small airplane they were riding in crashed into a lake in Talladega County.
The Talladega County Sheriff's office told FOX6 News a small airplane crashed into Cedar Creek in Fayetteville around 3 p.m.
Two people were on board. The sheriff's department said both victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries. One was transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham while the other was taken to a hospital in Sylacauga.
The FAA said the plane is an Aviat Aircraft A-1B. The FAA did not know the circumstances surrounding the crash, but had a crew from Birmingham en route to the scene.
