Helicopter landing blows massive tent over in Libya

Video demonstrates why bringing chopper down next to an unsecured marquee is a bad idea

HELICOPTERS. They’re useful for transporting people in and out of otherwise inaccessible places, making fleeing from the police an exercise in futility and, apparently, relocating very big tents in a very big hurry.

This video, shot in north-west Libya, shows what happens when a chopper pilot gets too close to an unsecured marquee at a festival. The results are swift and spectacular.

You'd be forgiven for thinking pilots would have the possible side-effects of helicopter down-force highlighted fairly early on in their training. Presumably this pilot - of what looks like a Chinook – was away that day.
