Delay of Delhi flight irks passengers

AHMEDABAD: More than 120 passengers flying to Delhi from Ahmedabad in JetLite's afternoon flight were a harried lot as their flight got delayed due to unruly weather conditions in Lucknow.

Passengers complained that the airline ground staff officials were unable to address their concerns despite repeated appeals and kept them in the dark about the delay. The scheduled departure for JetLite Ahmedabad-Delhi-Lucknow is 2.10 pm, however, the flight took off at 4.45 pm. "I came to the airport at 1 pm and was issued a boarding pass soon. But despite asking the airline officials several times none of them told us when the flight will take off. I've a meeting with my business partner in Delhi who is there for a day," said Vijendra Parikh, a passenger.

Ahmedabad JetLite officials said that thing were not in their hands as weather conditions in Lucknow had sent the flight schedules in the region for a toss.

"The flight got delayed as the aircraft from Delhi came late due to bad weather conditions in Lucknow. The flight from Ahmedabad had 29 passengers for Lucknow who had to stay back in Delhi as the flights to Lucknow were cancelled due to rough weather," said a JetLite official.
