United Airlines names its airport lounges United Club

Airport lounges operated by Continental and United airlines will all be called United Club starting Saturday.

United and Continental Airlines merged last year but still operate as separate carriers until the Federal Aviation Administration approves a single operating certificate, which is expected later this year.

United's airport lounges for its members and first-class passengers were called Red Carpet Club and Continental's were called President's Club.

The signs at the combined company's 50 lounges in 39 airports across the globe were to be changed Friday night.

The lounges have WiFi, conference rooms and snacks. Memberships start at $495.
