German air traffic controllers may strike next week.

BERLIN - AIR traffic controllers in Germany may strike next week, a German union said, after a walkout scheduled for Thursday was called off only hours before it was due to start.

The union that represents air traffic controllers will discuss the matter later on Thursday, union negotiator Dirk Vogelsang told Reuters.

The air traffic controllers' union earlier this week called on workers to strike for six hours, which could have disrupted thousands of flights during the busy holiday season.

The strike was called off late on Wednesday after a court granted air traffic authority DFS an injunction.

Fraport , the operator of Germany's busiest airport in Frankfurt, said air traffic was normal on Thursday morning.
