FRANKLIN, Virginia — Last night, Virginia State Police received a call around 8:48 p.m. about a Cessna 177B Cardinal crash at the Franklin Municipal Airport.

The pilot, Randall Barger of Newport News, “crashed as he was approaching the runway,” according to a press release.

There was no one on the plane besides Barger. He suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Norfolk General Hospital.

  1. They need to stop planting those trees on the runway. They’re hard to see, especially at night.

    1. Take a look at flight aware and look at the track. Then consider there's no fuel at FKN at night and that plane is based another 25mi north of there...
