  1. What? A wild turkey? They generally do not fly except low to the ground (and very briefly) only in a last effort to escape from a predator. They have the capability to get above tree level for distance flying, but that is extremely uncommon. This is a rare event if indeed it was a wild turkey.

  2. I almost hit a wild turkey with my car. It was even lower to the ground than a deer. I suppose many different animals could be hit during the landing phase.
