On January 1, 2020 at 3:37 p.m. the Yolo Emergency Communications Agency (YECA) received a third hand report of an aircraft down at the Yolo County Airport (KDWA). The West Plainfield Fire Department, American Medical Response Ambulance, and the Yolo County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and found a Van's RV-8 upside down off of Runway 34. The pilot was assisted out of the aircraft prior to our arrival and was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation. The Yolo County Sheriff’s Office and Federal Aviation Administration will conduct the investigation.
