Beech 35, N2839V: Accident occurred May 03, 2019 at Deer Park Airport (KDEW), Spokane County, Washington

On May 3, 2019, about 1130 Pacific daylight time, a Beech 35, airplane, N2839V, experienced a vibration during climb-out from Deer Park Airport (DEW), Deer Park, Washington. The private pilot was not injured. The airplane sustained substantial damage to the fuselage. The airplane was registered to and operated by the pilot as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed about the time of the accident and no flight plan was filed for the flight. The flight was originating at the time and destined for Felts Field Airport (SFF), Spokane, Washington.

The pilot reported that shortly after departure, climbing through about 400 ft above ground level (agl), while in a right turn to the east, he heard a loud bang and felt a vibration. The vibration ceased and the pilot continued to his intended destination with no other anomiles noted.

A postaccident examination revealed substantial damage to the fuselage. The airplane was secured in the pilot's hangar for further examination.
