HENDERSON, NV (FOX5/AP) - A small airplane went off the runway at Henderson Executive Airport Wednesday morning, according to an official.

Chris Jones, of the Clark County Department of Aviation, said the incident occurred at approximately 10:30 a.m. He said the plane, Cirrus SR22, experienced a problem with the brakes upon landing. 

The pilot was the only person onboard the plane. No injuries were reported. 

Jones said the airplane was returning from Santa Monica, California and sustained minor damage. 

Two runways at the airport were expected to be closed for a few hours, Jones said.

HENDERSON, Nev. (KSNV) — No injuries were reported after a plane veered off the runway at Henderson Executive Airport on Wednesday, according to an official.

A small plane had landed but experienced breaking problems when it went off the runway at about 10:30 a.m., said Chris Jones, chief marketing officer for the airport.

The only person on board was the pilot, and that person did not immediately report any injuries.

The plane was a Cirrus SR22, Jones said. It was not immediately known if the plane was based at Henderson or if it was arriving from another location.

According to records from the Federal Aviation Administration, the plane is registered to a man with a Henderson address.

Henderson Fire Department responded to a plane that has gone off of a runway at Henderson Executive Airport around 10:30 a.m. 

The McCarran Airport Public Information Officer says that a Henderson based pilot was returning from Santa Monica, California, when he encountered a brake issue on his Cirrus SR-22. The pilot decided to take the plane off the runway during landing. 

No injuries were reported to the pilot, the sole person aboard the plane, and the plane suffered only minor damages. 

The runway will remain closed for a couple of hours.
