Initial concerns of a potential Cessna 150L crash in Johnson County culminated with no injuries and a safe departure for the pilot.

At 10:06 am Friday Columbus Airport notified dispatch that a Cessna 150L was having problems and may be down somewhere near Johnson County Roads 400 South and 700 East in the Amity area.

Local authorities arrived to find the Cessna 150L north of 400 South on 800 East in Johnson County.

The Cessna 150L had landed in a snow covered farm field with no damage.

The pilot of the Cessna 150L was having a mechanical problem and put the plane down successfully.

Police and fire crews were on scene and after conferring with the pilot and others he was allowed to put the Cessna 150L back into the air.

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. -- You might have seen a strange sight if you were driving past a particular farm field in Johnson County Friday.

The Johnson County Sheriff says a Cessna 150L landed in a snow-covered field north of 400 S and 800 E.

Dispatch was notified in the morning that a Cessna 150L might be down in the Amity area.

Sheriff Doug Cox says the pilot of the Cessna 150L was having a mechanical problem and put the Cessna 150L down successfully.

The pilot was not hurt and after speaking with police and fire officials was allowed to take back off in his Cessna 150L.
