Indian River State College to teach drone aviation for business purposes

FORT PIERCE — The Corporate and Community Training Institute at Indian River State College will offer a Remote Pilot Training Course for people with no prior experience in drone aviation.

The FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Training Course will prepare participants to pass the remote pilot test and qualify for certification for flight of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) for business purposes.


The course will be held from Sept. 23 to Oct. 7 on three Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the IRSC Main Campus in Fort Pierce. The cost is $450.


“The CCTI is consistently offering new training opportunities for businesses,” said Bob O’Brien, CCTI Coordinator. “The remote pilot course is taught by a knowledge expert in drone aviation and prepares businesses to take their companies to a new level.”


Topics will include remote pilot responsibilities, operation rules, maximum speed and altitude, chart symbols, preflight check and more.
