JACKSON COUNTY, Ga. - A small plane had to make an emergency landing on a Jackson County highway Tuesday afternoon.

Jackson County deputies tell Channel 2 Action News the plane had an engine failure and the pilot was able to land it safely on the roadway.

The Piper PA-24 landed on Highway 441, about two miles from the city of Nicholson. 

No one was injured. 

The flight was headed to Henry County Airport, the FAA said.

JACKSON COUNTY, GA (CBS46) - A small single-engine plane caused a slight traffic backup on Tuesday when it had to stage an emergency landing on U.S. 441 near Nicholson, Ga.

The plane experienced an engine failure and made an emergency landing on U.S. 441 near Cabin Creek Road. 

The plane is now off the highway, but traffic is still slow in the area. No injuries were reported.
