Biman adds another Boeing 737-800

The national flag carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines has recently added another Boeing 737-800 (Mayurpankhi) in its fleet.

It is the 6th of the ten purchased Boeing for the fleet, which was inducted on 25 December 2015.

After adding the two next-generation Boeing 737-800 Meghdoot and Mayurpankhi, the total number of aircraft of Biman’s fleet is now stands at 14.

In 2008, the airline went into an agreement with Boeing Company for acquisition of 10 new generation aircraft of 4 Boeing 777-300ERs, 2 Boeing 737-800 and 4 Boeing 787 Dreamliner, the biggest ever airline deal in the history of Bangladesh. Boeing has already delivered four Boeing 777-300ER aircraft to Biman in the last five years.

As per agreement Boeing is scheduled to deliver another four Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft by 2020. Currently, Biman flies to 15 destinations of Middle East, Europe and Asia.
