Less than a month after launching, Kiwi Regional Airlines is already cutting it services

The Hamilton-based company has announced it will no longer run its Dunedin to Queenstown service from December.

Chief executive Ewan Wilson said the company had been struggling with both low demand and bad weather on the route and couldn't continue running it.

"This is in marked contrast to our services between Dunedin, Nelson and Hamilton, which have all exceeded expectations," he said.

The company was now looking at new regions, such as Hawke's Bay, Bay of Plenty and Taranaki, he said.

The company got off to a rough start last month when it announced cuts to its schedules within eight hours of opening.
