Grand Junction Regional Airport (KGJT) website goes down

Grand Junction Regional Airport officials on Friday found out that their webpage, http://www.gjairport.com, no longer was online.

Instead, an ad directing viewers to Network Solutions, came up.

“Somebody must have hijacked our link again,” said Ben Johnson, operations manager at the airport. “This is a malicious-intent thing.”

A customer-service representative at Network Solutions said the airport was current on its bill through 2020.

The airport’s website was built on a platform that no longer is supported, “so it’s highly vulnerable,” said Amy Jordan, business and administrative manager at the airport.

The incident was being investigated by Sequent Information Systems, the airport’s information-services contractor.

Customers can use the airport website to make flight reservations, check weather conditions and gain access to airport documents.
