To the editor:
This summer while driving south on I-17, I saw a drone hovering over the highway at a distance of approximately one mile west of the Flagstaff Pulliam Airport. The FAA is in disarray about how to regulate the private use of drones.
It may sound alarmist, but I was concerned, particularly after reading about the number of near misses around airports and people attending events. There have been a number of reports in the press about people being injured whilst going about their business and being buzzed by drones that failed to stay on trajectory and hurt them. I would be interested in hearing what others think about this issue.
