Intrepid Aviation delivers Airbus A330-300 to Sichuan Airlines

Stamford-based Intrepid Aviation on Wednesday announced the delivery of one new Airbus A330-300 to Sichuan Airlines, based in Chengdu, China. The aircraft is powered by Rolls Royce Trent 772C engines and is subject to a long-term lease.

"With this delivery, we are delighted to be further expanding our commercial relationship with Sichuan Airlines, one of China's most successful carriers," said Andy Beer, senior vice president and general manager of the Asia Pacific division at Intrepid Aviation, in a statement. "With three new A330-300 aircraft delivered to Sichuan Airlines in less than 12 months, Intrepid Aviation demonstrates once again its continuing growth within the Asia-Pacific region, and confirms its reputation as a reliable partner for the supply of the most in-demand widebody aircraft."

Intrepid Aviation is a privately held commercial aircraft lessor, which owns commercial aircraft leased to airline operators worldwide. Intrepid Aviation focuses primarily on twin-engine widebody equipment, such as the Boeing 787, 777 and the Airbus A330.

Frank Wang, director of the contracts division at Sichuan Airlines, said, "With this delivery of a 3rd A330-300 from Intrepid, our business partnership continues to strengthen and we look forward to expanding on this foundation in the future."

In September, Intrepid Avaion acquired an A330-300 equipped with two General Electric CF6-80E1A4 engines that has been leased to China Airlines. Manufactured in late 2012, the aircraft is the second A330-300 aircraft the company has acquired on lease to the Taiwan-based airline.

Intrepid Aviation filed with U.S. regulators earlier this month for an initial public offering of common stock. The company counts funds affiliated with Reservoir Capital Group and Centerbridge Partners among its stockholders.

Reservoir Capital Group was established in 1998 as a privately held investment firm with a flexible, opportunistic investment approach and has approximately $7 billion in assets under management.

Centerbridge Partners is a private investment firm headquartered in New York City with approximately $20 billion in capital under management.
