The Federal Aviation Administration
is looking into the June 26th death of Henry Ho and some critics are
questioning the practices of his paragliding teacher, who is defending
himself.
An Imperial Beach paragliding instructor is defending himself against accusations that he is reckless following a Colorado student's death last week.
According to fox5sandiego.com, the Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the accident that led to Henry Ho's death June 26.
Dell Schanze was Ho's instructor, the report said.
One, Billy Purden, called Schanze “a habitual violator.”
Last
year the Imperial Beach City Council passed an emergency ordinance to
prohibit certain kinds of paragliding activity after Schanze jumped off a building on Seacoast Drive.
Schanze,
however, told the station he has a perfect safety record and placed the
blame on Ho, saying “I could never have guessed he was going to freeze
up like that.”
He also called himself “the best instructor.”
In recent months Schanze has also been accused and reportedly investigated for shooting while flying and kicking birds while flying in Utah.
