Seawind 3000 ditches in Bonville Creek - Australia

A seaplane experiencing engine troubles ditched in Bonville Creek.

A single-engine seaplane was forced to ditch in Bonville Creek at Sawtell a short time ago after losing power.

The experienced pilot told bystanders he encountered mechanical problems during a flight between Wollongong and the Gold Coast.

He said he had tried to reach the Coffs Harbour Airport on a slow descent but had to land in the creek on the low tide around 10.45am.

The aircraft was undamaged and the pilot was able to take-off a short time later.
