Bird strike forces plane to land at Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport (KFLL), Florida

FT. LAUDERDALE/HOLLYWOOD INT'L AIRPORT (WSVN) -- A flight taking off from South Florida was forced to turn back after a bird struck one of the plane's engine.

The flight left for for San Juan from Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport on Monday morning. The plane landed safely shortly after 7:00 a.m.

Skyforce HD hovered over the Jet Blue Airbus, which is being taken out of service while crews repaired the damages.

All passengers were put on another plane and continued on to their destination in Puerto Rico.
