Arrival of new gates delayed at Atlantic City International Airport (KACY), New Jersey

An increase in the number of gates at Atlantic City International Airport in Egg Harbor Township should be a reality by September.

Officials from the South Jersey Transportation Authority, which operates the airport, had said previously that the project to increase the number of gates from seven to 10 would be complete by May or June. Construction holdups have pushed the opening back.

The new gates are part of a $25 million expansion project that also includes a larger baggage-claim area and an international flight processing center. The airport currently does not provide service to any scheduled international destinations, but is in discussions with Spirit Airlines regarding direct Caribbean service.
