A big boost to aviation sector

MUSCAT — Shaikh Said bin Ali al Mashali, Under-Secretary of the Transport and Communications Ministry for Civil Aviation Affairs, said that the Royal Directive of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos related to the establishment of a Public Authority for Civil Aviation that will have its administrative and financial independence will promote the status of the Sultanate in the world level with relation to aviation industry, especially in light of the strong competition witnessed by the world civil aviation industry.

This will be achieved through providing better security and safety levels, as per the international standards recommended by the civil aviation organizations. He added in a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA) that this step will enable the Omani civil aviation in the Sultanate to shoulder its responsibilities as per the best international practices in light of the challenges facing the civil aviation industries. This requires providing the highest safety and security standards that are in line with the recommended standards by the civil aviation affairs organizations.

He added that this step will enable the civil aviation sector in the Sultanate to carry out its responsibilities as per the best international practices in light of the challenges facing the civil aviation industry.

This requires providing the proper environment that provides the safety and security requirements and can acclimatise with the rapid and subsequent developments in this field. It will also enhance the efficiency of the performance of the civil aviation sector in the Sultanate in terms of operational aspects to be in line with international requirements.

He also said that the establishment of a Civil Aviation Authority will enhance the restricting of the civil aviation sector in line with the organizations charts for its peers in the international civil aviation sectors.

This will contribute to rehabilitating the national manpower in this field in line with the international requirements, encourage them to exert more effort and ensure employment stability for them, especially in light of the competition for the specialized jobs in the civil aviation fields.

He affirmed that establishing the Authority will have positive impact on the promotion of the civil aviation sector in the Sultanate and will promote it to the extent that it secures unique position for the Sultanate among the countries of the region, especially the Authority will have its administrative and financial independence.
