Adele refuses to pay £75 helipad fee

Adele reportedly refused to pay £75 to land her helicopter at a hotel.

The 23-year-old 'Someone Like You' singer's team apparently deemed the fee to use the helipad in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, 'too expensive' and decided to take their business elsewhere.

Peter Hands, who runs the Speech House Hotel near Cinderford, told the Daily Mail newspaper: 'We had a call last Sunday morning (25.03.12) asking if her helicopter could land on our helipad by the hotel and how much it would cost.

'When I told him there was a standard £75 fee he said that was too much - which is a bit rich coming from one of today's most successful multi-millionaire pop stars.

'They also asked about arranging a taxi to take her to Mitcheldean for 10am. It was a mystery as to what she was doing in the Forest.'

The Grammy Award-winning artist is believed to have had a helipad installed at her Sussex mansion to help her commute to London.

An insider told The Sun newspaper: 'Adele's property has so much land she thought, 'Why not?'

'It will cut down her journey time by some distance and it also means she won't have to rely so heavily on cars.

'She's a busy woman and needs to get to places with minimal disruption.'
