Snowy Runway Causes Plane to Flip in Fremont County, Idaho

Plane Flips on Snowy Runway

A snow-covered runway caused a small plane in Fremont County go flip over after an attempted landing.

The Fremont County Sheriffs Office responded to the 911 call that a plane had crashed north of the Ashton Reservoir Sunday. The pilot was attempting to land on a private runway. The landing strip was snow covered which caused the airplane to flip over onto its top.

The airplane was flown by Russell Schwendiman from Ririe. He was the only occupant involved in the crash and he walked away from it.
