MINNESOTA: Low-altitude helicopter flyover Tuesday part of Rochester Public Utilities study

A specially equipped, low-flying helicopter will be used as part of a light detention and ranging survey being done Tuesday of Rochester Public Utilities' transmission line facilities.

The survey is being conducted to meet recent Federal requirements on transmission owners. The survey work is being done by a contractor experienced in this type of survey work, under the guidance of RPU staff. The survey should take one day to complete. The helicopter range in altitude will vary depending on the location.

Customers can call RPU at 507-280-1500 with questions regarding the survey.
