Taylorcraft: Plane Crash Near Easton, Missouri.

EASTON, Mo. — An Easton, Mo., pilot escaped serious injury after his plane crashed near Missouri Highway 6 shortly after 6 p.m. Saturday.

Pilot Stephen Blazer, 48, experienced some sort of mechanical failure shortly after his attempt to take off in his 1940 Taylorcraft airplane, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol Cpl. Corey Root. After Mr. Blazer reached approximately 25 feet in the air, Mr. Blazer noticed a mechanical issue and crashed the plane in a bean field, owned by Mr. Blazer.

Neighbors reported the crash to local law enforcement as Mr. Blazer was taken to Heartland Regional Medical Center with a broken nose and a minor laceration to his face. Mr. Root said Mr. Blazer initially planned to travel to Rosecrans Memorial Airport.

A rural Buchanan County pilot crashed his plane around 6:30pm just shortly after takeoff. He crashed on his own field.

The pilot was taken to the hospital with minor injuries

A neighbor says the pilot recently finished building an air strip in his field. He also said that the plane was having mechanical problems last weekend.

The crash occurred east of the Platte River on Highway 6. The pilot was the only person in the plane.
