Iran Air flights underway despite sanctions: official.

TEHRAN— The managing director of Iran's national air carrier (Iran Air), Farhad Parvaresh, announced that despite intensified pressures and restrictions by the Western states against the Iranian airline, its international flights are going ahead without any disruption.

Parvaresh dismissed recent EU and U.S. sanctions against Iran’s state-owned airline, and stated that despite some problems such as flight delays, Iranian travelers support the airline and buy its tickets for international flights, IRNA news agency reported on Saturday.

The official added that currently 13 points in Europe refuse fuel to Iranian planes under pressure from the U.S., “but fortunately no flight has been cut”.

“The West pressures against the Islamic Republic aviation industry in the recent 30 years, although has increased some costs of the Iranian airlines, but ironically has triggered the capability of the country’s aerial specialists”, the official added.
