Full-scale disaster drill today at South Bend Regional Airport (KSBN), Indiana.

SOUTH BEND - A full-scale airport disaster drill will be this morning at South Bend Regional Airport.

According to a news release, all airports are under a Federal Aviation Administration mandate to test emergency response systems in coordination with local emergency service providers. A full-scale drill is conducted every three years.

Airport emergency responders, St. Joseph County Emergency Management, Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Memorial Hospital, South Bend Fire Department, Mishawaka Fire Department, Clay Fire Territory, Southwest Central Fire Territory, District II Task Force, Memorial MedFlight and multiple EMS responders will participate.

After the drill, airport director John Schalliol will lead drill participants and volunteers in a moment of reflection for the anniversary of 9/11.
