Wounded Beechcraft Duke lands safe at Kelowna International Airport (YLW). British Columbia, Canada.

A Beechcraft Duke airplane with two people on board was forced to make an emergency landing at Kelowna International Airport Friday morning.

At about 10:15 a.m., the airport received word the aircraft had a port engine fire and required to make an emergency landing.

The plane landed safely five minutes later.

"The fire was extinguished prior to landing by the pilot who shut the fuel off to the port engine," says YLW Communications Coordinator, Jenelle Hynes.

Both people made it out of the plane uninjured.

The airport's Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting crew responded to the emergency.

Kelowna Fire Department, ambulance and RCMP personnel were also called to the scene.
