No injuries were reported after a plane touched down at the Yarmouth airport on Wednesday morning with mechanical problems.

Chief Ken Kelly says the Yarmouth Fire Department received the call at 11:35 a.m. on Wednesday.

“They had landing gear failure on one side of the aircraft,” he said.

The plane landed without incident but the fire department remained on the scene until 6:16 p.m. as a precaution.

The fire department report lists the owner of the plane as Twin Cities Airlines in Portland.

The company flew a mechanic over from Portland for repairs.

A passenger who cleared customs after the plane landed said there was a problem with the brakes as the plane landed.

“The pilot did a great job of keeping it on the runway,” he said.

Twin Cities Air Service was contacted but declined comment.
