The plane landed safely with two people onboard at around 2:15 p.m., she said, adding that the Federal Aviation Administration will investigate.
An airport official said the pilot had reported the plane's engine was running rough.

RONKONKOMA, New York- The pilot of a Cessna 172 made an emergency landing at Long Island MacArthur Airport in Ronkonkoma after reporting possible engine problems on Sunday, a Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman said.
