On July 31, 2021, about 1125 central daylight time, a Cessna 182N airplane, N287TC, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Ennis, Texas. The pilot was not injured. The flight operated under the provisions of Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 as a skydiving operation.

Initial reports indicate that the airplane departed Ennis Municipal Airport (F41), Ennis, Texas about 1108 for a skydiving operation. After the jumpers left the airplane, the pilot returned to F41 when the airplane’s engine experienced a loss of engine power. Unable to restore power, the pilot performed a forced landing. During the forced landing the airplane collided with the airport’s fence and substantial damage was sustained to the fuselage and wings.

The airplane was retained for further examination.
