Very thankful for the protecting hand of God today. The pilot and co-pilot were unharmed, no one was hurt, the plane had a couple of flat tires. Sounds like a couple vehicles on Highway 25 were close to the incident, the pilot told me he hoped the passengers in the red jeep are ok. He said they were close to them and done all they could to avoid them. The engine failed them just north of Iuka and they were able to make an emergency landing on Highway 25. They are from Florida, and had been on a trip to Missouri and was headed back to Florida. -Brandon Grissom

A small airplane appears to have had to make an emergency landing on a stretch of Mississippi highway Saturday afternoon.

Several social media users report an airplane emblazoned with U.S. Marines markings made an emergency landing on Highway 25 in Iuka, Mississippi.

Video and still photographs posted to social media show the airplane stopped along the edge of the highway. The airplane did not appear severely damaged. No word on whether anyone onboard sustained injuries or not.

Exactly what happened is not yet known, but emergency crews are on the scene.
