Well he was lined up for ~10km (6.2 miles) all the way over Durango before deviating ~500m (1,600') to the left of the runway heading then sharply correcting back to runway heading according to that map. Loss of left engine perhaps and he didn't handle it correctly? It just doesn't make any since to be that lined up on approach for that long and then just start deviating left before sharply trying to get back on runway heading with just a few hundred meters before the threshold. I'd really like to know what happened here when the investigation is complete.

    2. I'm the deceased pilot's son. Right Fuel control unit failed before landing and presented erratic behavior.My father was unable to control the aircraft as the right motor went up and down on the rpms...
