This morning at about 9:45 a.m., deputies were notified about an aircraft experiencing engine failure while flying north of Keizer. 

While searching for a safe place to land, the pilot briefly lost contact with the control tower.

Fortunately, the pilot was able to safely perform an emergency landing in a farm field off of Windsor Island Road north of Keizer.

The 2007 P2002 Sierra had two passengers in it when the engine failed, the pilot and their flight instructor. 

Neither person was injured during the emergency landing.

The owner of the aircraft, is working with the owner of the farm field to have the aircraft removed.
