“The crash occurred September 7th at 11 a.m., however, DPS wasn’t notified until Tuesday morning,” said Patrol Sgt. Mark Tackett.

According to reports, the Piper PA-32R-301T Turbo Saratoga SP took off from Jones Field and for an unknown reason crashed half a mile east of the airstrip.

Tackett said the pilot, Christopher Davis nor the passenger Steven Hale reported the crash.

“The crash was reported by a witness and as far as we are aware there were no injuries,” added Tackett.

The incident is under investigation.
