On June 4, 2020, about 0600 Pacific daylight time, a Schweizer Aircraft Corp, N8486K, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Lincoln, California. The pilot was not injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 137 agricultural flight.
The pilot reported that on takeoff with a full load of rice, just as the tail was getting light, the airplane pulled hard to the left. The pilot was able to correct back to the right momentarily, however, the airplane pulled hard to the left a second time. The pilot then applied up elevator, was able to get airborne to about 10 feet above the ground before the airplane settled into an adjacent rice field where it came to rest inverted.
The airplane was recovered to a secured salvage facility for further examination.
